A clinic built on thirty-seven years of community care.

One roof, one practice, one neighbourhood — Brunswick since 1987.

Drs David and Alicia Cannon

David Cannon grew up in Queensland and moved to Melbourne in 1991. Towards the end of high school, while representing Victoria in volleyball, he suffered an injury that led him to a chiropractor — and that experience changed the course of his life. He graduated from RMIT Bundoora in 2003 with a double degree (BAppSc(ClinSc)/BChiroSc) and spent years working across Melbourne and in Ireland before he and Alicia took the next step.

In early 2016, David and Alicia — a chiropractor and osteopath who had met through the clinic world — took over Brunswick Chiropractic Clinic when it was open just three days a week. They’ve grown it into a full multidisciplinary practice, carrying forward care the clinic has provided this neighbourhood since 1987.

David has particular interest in injury rehabilitation, chronic pain, and posture problems from workplace ergonomics. He still plays State League volleyball and has represented Victoria in both indoor and beach. Alicia graduated from RMIT in 2000 (BAppSc Human Movement) and brings her osteopathic perspective to the same patient population — together they’re the "one roof" the clinic promises.

One practice. One focus.

Brunswick Chiropractic is a single practice. We are not a franchise. We do not run a multi-location business — our focus is being your local healthcare provider. Drs Cannon took over a practice that was open three days a week and built it into the team you see today: thirteen practitioners across chiropractic, osteopathy, myotherapy and remedial massage, all working under the same roof at 178–180 Sydney Road.

The original clinic was founded in 1987. Previous principal chiropractors Drs Paul Carless and Alan Freedman gave it its foundations. The Cannons have continued that work, continually improving both the services provided and the feel of the practice.

We serve Brunswick, Brunswick West, Brunswick East, Coburg, Carlton, Parkville, Northcote, Thornbury and Pascoe Vale — anyone who can step off Sydney Road and into care.

A familiar face at the door.

Sandra Parnis has been the Practice Manager at Brunswick Chiropractic since 2009 — she is the familiar face our patients know. And she is usually accompanied by Cooper, the clinic’s therapy dog, who makes the waiting room feel a little less clinical.
